EduRobot — Voice-Interactive Classroom Assistant Robot
Interactive classroom robot featuring voice interaction, student facial recognition, and automated attendance logging in under 3 minutes.

The situation & problem
Large university lecture halls lose 10-15 minutes per session taking attendance and managing basic routine course questions.
The operational constraints
Acoustic reverberation in large lecture halls, variable classroom lighting, and local offline processing constraints.
Architectural tradeoffs & what was refused
A stationary tablet on a stand pretending to be a robot.
What I built & shipped
Physical articulated robotic platform with microphone array noise suppression, OpenCV facial recognition attendance engine, and Django backend.
Architecture & stack
Python, OpenCV, Django, SpeechRecognition, Pyttsx3, SQLite, Raspberry Pi.
Result & measurable impact
Automated attendance logging in under 3 minutes for 60+ seated students with instant instructor report exports.
Next iterations & roadmap
Integration of modern local edge LLM reasoning for dynamic subject-matter tutoring.
System surfaces & interface captures
